Dogleg bowl was my first introduction to the backcountry of Crystal Mountain Ski resort. Accessed via a hour long boot pack it access a small but nice alpine bowl. We would lay out a boot pack and lap it numerous times before riding down to Silver Basin. This trip was one of those days that Dan and I made our way out in the middle of a storm.

Norse Peak finding good snow on the South Slope

Norse Peak is the highest summit around the Crystal Mountain area and offers a scenic alternative to the closer summits. Being a bit of a longer approach it is dramatically quieter than the surround mountains. It has 3 main faces that can be rode being the south side to Lake Basin. The North side into Big Crow Basin and the west side down into the Crystal Mountain valley if you are adventurous. Being that it was a clear day with a little bit of snow we made our way out there to take a lap on the South side before exciting via East Peak.
