The road side ski tours around Snoqualmie Pass and beyond are unusually steep and when it’s not raining has some of the best terrain. Most people don’t know but Alpental is a steep skiing paradise and some of the wildest terrain lift accessible in the U.S. and just off the lifts the mountains get even better. From just south of the ski hills all the way to Gold Creek these trip reports only scratch the surface of what is possible.

Ski Tours in Alpine Lakes Wilderness

To the East of Snoqualmie Pass is the vast landscape of Alpine Lakes Wilderness. Starting just north of the ski hills it runs east all the way to the town of Leavenworth. With 414,161 acres of mountainous terrain the only issue is access. But if you are willing to put in the extra work this area has some of the more rugged terrain around the greater Puget Sound Area.
